Are Homes on base are designed to meet the needs of single
officers and growing families. They're also completely customizable—bring
your own furniture and feel free to paint! Most residences feature
attractive interiors, updated appliances, multiple bedrooms and baths,
and grassy backyards that can be landscaped as you see fit. Best of
all, they're often within walking distance of stores, schools,
restaurants and churches.
If you choose to live off base, you'll receive a housing allowance that will probably cover most of your rent. You're free to choose where you live, but you're sure to find yourself returning to base to enjoy amenities like tax-free shopping, discounted groceries and free medical care that will help lower your overall cost of living.
